HCPS Meal Program

Team Hillsborough,
I am excited to share with you some good news regarding our meal program in Hillsborough County Public Schools. Our District has received confirmation from the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) that we can continue serving nutritious meals free to children 18 and under through the end of the school year. The USDA has extended their funding to districts across the nation through the 2020-21 school year to ensure students receive meals during the pandemic at no cost to families or the district.

All brick and mortar students can receive free hot meals in our school cafeterias. Students who are eLearning will be able to pick up their free grab-and-go meals at one of 75 school sites. See the list below.

In an effort to further support community members in need, all children 18 and under are eligible for this service regardless of whether they’re enrolled in Hillsborough County Public Schools. The 75 grab-and-go sites will be open Monday and Wednesday ONLY from 10am – 11am for students and parents to pick up meals.

Even though all students will be receiving free meals through the end of the year, we want to encourage our families to fill out an application for School Meal Benefits.
Students who qualify for free or reduced-price lunch may be eligible for:

  • Fee waivers for college entrance exams and AP exams;
  • Reduced fees for after school programs;
  • Reduced subscription costs for internet providers.

I’d like to thank our Student Nutrition Services workers for continually supporting our learners by providing them nutritious meals, whether in the cafeteria or by grab-and-go.

Respectfully,
Addison G. Davis
