The Alonso High School Magnet (IB) Program is joining together with the other four High School IB Programs in Hillsborough County (Hillsborough HS, King HS, Robinson HS, and Strawberry Crest HS) to preset a virtual Open House to discuss the benefits of an IB education in high school and how the district Magnet application process works. The virtual Open House will take place on Thursday, October 29th at 7:00pm. There will be general session and then break-out sessions where you can learn about information specific to Alonso’s program. Information on how to access the Open House can be found on the flyer attachment.
This event is an excellent opportunity for 8th graders currently enrolled in Algebra 1 or Geometry to learn about the Magnet application process.
Other virtual opportunities to learn about Alonso HS and other HCPS Magnet programs can be found at: https://www.sdhc.k12.fl.us/docs/00/00/02/30/20_21_Event_Dates_v4.pdf
Alonso High School is a candidate school* for the Diploma Programme. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. IB World Schools share a common philosophy- a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education- that we believe is important for our students.
Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), or the Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted.
