This program trains students to assist Veterinarians and other Veterinary professionals in the care of animal patients.
Students will gain hands-on experience in lab skills such as fecal flotation, cytology, urinalysis, blood analysis and disease identification. There is ample opportunity for experiences in animal husbandry, grooming, and daily pet care. In addition to the 750 classroom hours, students are required by Florida Veterinary Medical Association to complete an additional 250 Experiential hours.
Upon successful completion of the program, students will be qualified to take the industry certification test through the FVMA to become a Certified Veterinary Assistant (CVA).
750 clock hours - approximately 9 months
Classes are held Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
