    Message

With only three weeks remaining in the first quarter and Autumn’s arrival, the weather is getting cooler. As a reminder our uniform policy states that outer garments must have full front zippers or buttons. Pullover sweatshirts/hoodies are not permitted unless it is the “Williams” sweatshirt that maybe purchased via the Williams PTSA Facebook page or the membership site https://williamsmiddlemagnet.new.memberhub.store/  Students may wear white, black or gray undershirts tucked in underneath the navy blue polo shirt. Also, students are to wear solid color socks of any color.

Our school community’s high standard for personal appearance has served as an important component in our success. Thank you for working with your child to help us uphold our standard of excellence.

This year’s Magnet Application Window will begin on Monday, November 2 at 5:00 PM - Friday, December 11 at 11:59 PM.  High schools (for our 8th grade students) will offer virtual events for families to learn more about their programs.  The Choice/Magnet Expo is scheduled for Thursday, November 5, from 5:30-7:30 PM.  It will be a Zoom event and parents will be asked to register in advance.  More information will be forthcoming from the district with details for the Expo. This is the link to the district magnet page where families may look at schools, look at event schedules and register when links go live: https://www.sdhc.k12.fl.us/doc/230.

Lastly, I am sharing bittersweet news with you regarding Mrs. Jennifer Galvin. Mrs. Galvin has been promoted and will be working at the district level and today is her last day.  She has been a teacher at Williams for 12 years. We will have our very own, Mrs. Hoehn-Parish, Magnet Lead Teacher and Ms Julie Hiltz, Media Specialist provide coverage until the end of Quarter 1 or until the district hiring freeze is lifted. Ms Galvin, has left detailed plans and both Ms. Hoehn-Parish and Ms Hiltz are up for the challenge. Ms Galvin will be missed and we wish her the very best as she begins her new journey. Thank you for your cooperation.

    Respectfully,

    Ms Blackwood-Green, Principal
